Seattle Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch returns

On 10/23/2019 it was reported that Marshawn Lynch signed with the Seahawks after being away from the team since 2016. Marshawn or “Beast-mode” had a brief stint with the Oakland Raiders, which obviously didn’t pan out. Beastmode with a career total 10,379 yards and 84 touchdowns is a well needed addition to the Seahawks depleted back field.

Due to the season ending injuries of C.J. Prosise and Chris Carson, the Seahawks quickly nabbed Robert Turbin with Marshawn soon after.

My Take:

The additions of Turbin and Marshawn are bandaids for an injury that requires surgery. What is seemingly the most bad luck that I’ve seen for a team this good, a past prime Marshawn Lynch won’t match the level of a Chris Carson. Lynch who hasn’t rushed for a 1,000 yards in his last 3 “playing seasons” is very telling. Hopefully, Pete Carroll can integrate the two running backs into their system in time for the playoffs. If Marshawn somehow zaps into his former Beastmode days, he could likely help the Seahawks stay above water. I’m not optimistic about the aging back, but I do hope the Seahawks think twice about passing on the goal line.

Good luck Marshawn!
