LSU Tigers put the Alabama Crimson Tide in time out and the World on notice

The LSU Fighting Tigers faced the Alabama Crimson Tide in a highly anticipated game that many would call the “Game of the year.” This proved to be so as the Tigers left Alabama with more confused faces than a college calculus class.

LSU quickly racked up touchdowns with Joe Burrow at the helm. Starting with a 33 yard TD pass to Ja’Marr Chase, the LSU Tigers had Alabama in “Chase mode.” Alabama would immediately score on a 77 yard punt return but would find it hard to get their top heavy Offense going.

The tide began to turn in the 3rd quarter as LSU suddenly went scoreless. This, however, wasn’t enough as the Crimson Tide was too far behind with too little time to catch the fiery Tigers who extended their lead to 46 in the final minutes of the game (7 yard run – Clyde Edwards-Helaire).

Notable stats:

QB Joe Burrow finished the game 31/39 passing (79.5%), 393 yards, 3 TDS. (Pro-Football-Reference.com).

Clyde Edwards-Helier had 20 carries, 103 yards, 3 TDS, 9 catches for 77 yards and 1 TD. (Pro-Football-Reference.com).

Alabama Tua Mention:

Though Tua Tagovailoa was on the losing end of this battle, he finished 21/40 passing, 418 yards, 4 TDS, 2 Int. (Pro-Football-Reference.com).

What’s next for LSU?

LSU has Ole Miss (4-6), Arkansas (2-8), and Texas A&M (6-3) left on their schedule. Last year, LSU defeated Ole Miss 45-16 (2018). It’s still any given day in the game of football and one of these teams are primed and waiting for the upset. We shall see.
