Today it was made news that Emmanuel Sanders was traded to the San Francisco 49ers with a 5th round pick in exchange for a 2020 3rd and 4th round pick. (Adam Schefter).
Sanders, a former 2x Pro Bowler and 1x Super Bowl Champion, has seen his numbers dwindle a bit due to injury. This is his first season back from a grade 3 achilles tear. Hell if I know what a grade 3 tear is, but it’s pretty obvious that it’s a big deal.
So far this season, the 10 year veteran has 30 recs, 367 yards receiving and 2 TDS. It’s safe to say that he won’t come anywhere near his 2014 season (Pro Bowl) 101 recs, 1404 yards, and 9 TDS.
Sanders joins a team that is currently 6 – 0 and commanded by Jimmy Garropolo and Head Coach Kyle Shanahan.
The breakdown
Though Sanders has shown a lack of production over the past years, that could be directly attributed to having the following quarterbacks:
Joe Flacco (2019-present)
Case Keenum (2018)
Paxton Lynch (2016-2017)
Trevor Siemian (2016–2017)
Brock Osweiler (2015, 2017).
Sanders gets a well nurtured Garropolo who’s been under the tutelage of Tom Brady. I expect him to get more usage as he does know what it takes to get the job done.
The San Francisco 49ers understand that their window of opportunity for Super Bowl is small. Regimes change every 3-4 years and dynasties are less common than Haley’s Comet.
I fully expect Sanders to fit in and generate yards, YACS, and touchdowns in the next few weeks.

Thanks for listening guys.
