Yesterday on Thursday Night Football, QB phenom Patrick Mahomes suffered a devastating lower leg injury that knocked him out of the game. Fortunately for the team, all was not lost and there was a QB ready to step in and carry the mantle of this high powered offense. That QB was backup Matt Moore.
The Battle
Pat Mahomes, on pace for another MVP year, was already 10/11, 76 yards in the game with one touchdown. Then, Mahomes hikes the football, ends up at the bottom of the dog pile, and the whistle is blown.
The King Has Fallen
As everyone melts from large pile of bodies, Mahomes remains. What’s worse is that he has a grimace on his face; this grimace tells an awful story.

Medical staff rush in to cater to Mahomes instantly, and he’s assisted off the field. The throne is bare.
Enter the Knight
Matt Moore, the 12 year veteran, enters the game for the fallen quarterback. Moore, once the “it” man for the Miami Dolphins, has since been replaced by Ryan Tannehill and booted from the team. All of that, however, was in the past and now is the time to strike while the iron is hot.
The Dark Knight Arose
Off the bat, Matt Moore finds Turbo maniac Tyreek Hill who puts the “muah” at the end of a catch and score for 57 yards. Moore, of course not acclimated to true game speed, would hang on to win the game 30 – 6. Moore’s stats at the end of the game: 10/19, 117 yards, and one touchdown. “Not bad for the backup.”
“Not bad for the backup.”

The Kings Return
Although Matt Moore put up a sturdy performance, the Chiefs have to get Pat Mahomes back on the field if they hope to win a Super Bowl. Matt Moore is a game manager and very reserved; Pat Mahomes forces the tide to roll. His physical ability and god gifted talents need to be spilled on the field like the fresh paint before Sunday.
