The Seattle Seahawks (4-1) beat the Los Angeles Rams (3-2) 30-29 in an NFL Thursday Night Football thriller (TNF). The agile Russell Wilson hooked up with Tyler Lockett for a perfect throw and catch deep corner of the end zone keeping Seattle’s momentum fresh. Russell later linked up with the rookie DK Metcalf, Davis Moore, and Chris Carson for a total of 4 touchdowns and 268 yards. Simply said, Russell Wilson was sending the NFL a subtle reminder of, “Hey, I’m still here.”
The 5 time Pro Bowler has already thrown 12 touchdowns on the season and has been the main artery of this Seahawks team. Wilson hasn’t thrown for less than 200 yards since the first game of the season (196 yards) and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
The reigning MVP
Russell though amazing, nimble, and agile has a very worthy opponent in the race for MVP. This relentless T-800 Model 101 Terminator Pat Mahomes has already thrown for 1500 yards, and 10 touchdowns with 1 less game. It’s clear to say that Mahomes is this George Foreman in this “Rumble in the Jungle” who’s keen on the “Rope a dope.”
For Paul (Allen) (R.I.P)
In a post game interview with FOX’s Kristina Pink, a tearful Russell Wilson honored his team’s former owner who passed away after a battle with cancer at the age of 65:
“ I’m just a little emotional because we had the tribute to Paul today. He gave me the opportunity you know? I’m just grateful. Win or lose, God is good and I’m just grateful that he gave me the opportunity, God did, and Paul- this organization. I love playing here.“ (Russell Wilson, NFL, FOX sports)
Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks go on to face the Baltimore Ravens on October 20th. Although this isn’t your Daddy’s Baltimore Ravens, it will require the Seattle Seahawks to conjure up something of a run-game to take advantage of the Ravens’ ball-hawk defense. Wilson, on the other hand, will look to beef up his yearly resume and this is the game to do it. Go Hawks!
