Cleveland Browns’ quarterback Baker Mayfield has never been shy in front of the cameras. So, one could say that he’s equally vocal—vocal when it comes to clapping back at anyone, much less former NFL Coach Rex Ryan.
On an episode of GET UP, Rex was vexed that about a fourth quarter call made by the Browns. Rex stated, “I’d love to be an offensive coordinator here. If I have Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, Nick Chubb, and this Baker Mayfield, yeah, I know he’s overrated as hell…” Rex made sure to serve dessert saying, “You are one of the slowest guys on that field when you take off with it…and you’re not that accurate down the field.” Burrrnnnnn.
“You are one of the slowest guys on that field when you take off with it…and you’re not that accurate down the field.”
Rex Ryan
Baker Mayfield responded with, “…Rex Ryan doesn’t have colors for a reason.” This could be in reference to Rex Ryan not having an NFL team. Ryan was fired from his last team and, to be honest, has a habit of being fired. Is it out of the question to say that Rex Ryan was, actually right? Freddie Kitchens shares some of the blame. Play calling appeared perplexing at times but Baker Mayfield takes most of the blame. ESPN’s
FirstTake’s Max Kellerman bellowed a similar sentiment as Rex Ryan saying Baker Mayfield is, “Regressing.”
Baker Mayfield has been looking a little off this season. In the loss against the Rams, Baker finished the game 18/36, 195 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT with all that star power. This is unacceptable. With all that talent and star power the Browns need to burn the coals or pull into the station.
