Mike Tomlin: Hot seat? More like “Bed of lava.”

Mike Tomlin, head coach the Pittsburgh Steelers, is on the hot-seat, and the season just began. Former Superbowl head coach (with a pedigree of course), Tomlin is coming off a season disappointing 9-6-1 2018 record. Now, he’s starting off this season 0-2 with a whoopin from the New England Patriots (33-3). I think it’s clear to say that if he doesn’t “Turn this ship around” it’s most likely to hit an iceberg.

It’s time for the tides to turn.

Tomlin hasn’t been to the SuperBowl since 2010 (lost to the Greenbay Packers) and has lost two big divisional games and an AFC championship.

The Steelers’ defense looked atrocious against the Patriots. Mike Tomlin was out-coached, bam-boozled, and hood winked. The fallout from the AB-Ben saga has gotten everyone’s eye fixed on this once glorious market.

My take:

The season is still early, which means he still has the ability to reach the playoffs. Mike Tomlin has had many decent seasons but in the NFL it’s all about production and progression; SuperBowls bring home the bacon! He has to settle that rough defense and be the guy they hired many years ago…hiding behind that championship win won’t save you for long.
